How It Works
- First Appointment
- Digital Scanning
- In-Office Milling
- Crowns Seated

DIGITAL SCANNING
There is no need for traditional impressions using putty-like material. Instead, the scanner captures a digital image of the tooth and surrounding area. This creates a 3D digital image of the tooth, which is uploaded to our in-office milling machine. Scanning your teeth can be more comfortable for patients who may have a strong gag reflex or find traditional impressions uncomfortable.

Our full-time porcelain ceramicist designs the crown to fit your tooth perfectly. He will adjust the shape, size, and color of the crown to ensure a natural-looking result.
Milling: Once the crown design is finalized, the milling machine fabricates the crown from a block of porcelain. The machine uses specialized cutting tools to shape the porcelain block into the desired shape of the crown, based on the 3D digital image of the tooth.

The final step is to place the crown onto the your prepared tooth. The fit is first checked and any final adjustments are made as needed before cementing the crown into place.
Overall, the porcelain crown milling process allows for the creation of a highly precise, custom-fitted dental crown in a single visit to the dental office. It can be a convenient and efficient option for patients who require a dental crown.
